The Hellenic Institute of Egyptology is a Greek academic and cultural institution dedicated to the study and dissemination of ancient Egyptian civilisation. It runs online educational seminars, lectures and programmes for students, academics and enthusiasts across Greece.
A serious institution with a serious audience, and a website that needed to reflect that.
The Institute was running on an outdated Joomla website that hadn’t kept up with the times. It was slow, hard to navigate and difficult for the team to update. Upcoming seminars and programmes were hard to find, and the site didn’t reflect the quality of the institution.
The goal was clear: a fast, modern and easy-to-manage website that puts seminars and education front and centre, and gives the Institute a solid foundation to grow online.
We rebuilt hie.edu.gr from scratch on WordPress, replacing the Joomla installation entirely.
